JOB SUMMARY

The Pool Attendant is responsible for providing guests with courteous, friendly, sincere, efficient and graceful poolside service that meets or exceeds guest expectations as well as the AAA Four Diamond standards. This position is primarily responsible for assisting the server/bartender team to service all guests. This position is also responsible for the cleanliness of the pool deck.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Service – 20%

  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction utilizing the G.U.E.S.T. standards
  • Interact with guests when possible – ensuring guest satisfaction
  •  Assisting server/bartender staff as needed

Core Work Activities – 80%

  • Unlock, lock the pool gates and restrooms
  • Clean and maintain the pool deck and restrooms throughout the shift
  • Immediately inform supervisor of any problems or unusual situations
  • Restock, maintain and distribute the proper supply of towels
  • Set up, wipe down and reset pool furniture as needed
  • Monitor pool deck and pool to ensure guests are following safety rules
  • Assist servers and/or bartenders, i.e running food, refilling ice.
  • Anticipate and address guests' needs
  • Assist individuals with disabilities
  • Maintain the daily operations of the pool through the execution of daily opening and closing side work
  • Attend all required trainings and department meetings
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND  ABILITIES 
  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse guest types
  • Ability to remain calm and well organized under pressure while working quickly
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain multiple tasks at a time
  • Ability to keep emotions under control
  • Good time management skills
  • Local knowledge of the community (attractions, activities, etc)
  • Ability to respond promptly to guest needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and Grand Performers
  • Must speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
  • English language and professional communications skills are required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma, General Education Degree or related training equivalent- required
  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in similar scope and title – required
  • Ability to communicate in the English language - preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No Direct Reports
WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience.

  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
  • Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to move 10lbs on a daily basis.
  • Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus,  airplane or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting, and standing for long and short periods of time.
