JOB SUMMARY

 

The overall objective and purpose of the Engineering Project Manager position is to assist the Director of Engineering in planning, coordinating and managing hotel operations and building projects, including capital, construction and department-level projects.  Incumbent will assist in managing attic stock inventory maintenance and renewal, working closely with leadership, design team, contractors and planners.  They are to provide inspiring and strategic leadership while directing the activities of the Specialists and Contractors in support of the mission, core values, standards and goals established by the company.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists Director of Engineering with oversight of Projects and Capital, ensuring reliable planning, scheduling, coordination and communication.
  • Provides reports to the Executive Team on the status of project milestones and changes in scheduling as necessary.
  • Manages execution of projects, with a particular focus on timeline and budget.
  • Assists in the creation of effective plans and schedules, and evaluates preventative maintenance programs, especially in relation to new equipment/projects.
  • Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of facilities in order to make recommendations to the Executive Team.
  • Assists with identifying, selecting and/or purchase of new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
  • Work with all leaders throughout the Capital Acquisition process, including completion of Capital Acquisition Request Forms.
  • Coordinates with the Kessler Design Team, general contractors, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, planners, city officials and consultants related to assigned projects.
  • Manages attic stock inventory of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) and Operating, Supplies & Equipment (OS&E), including coordination of redesign, ordering and replenishment.
  • Manages large-scale projects in buildings including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance for safety standards and all applicable laws/code.
  • Maintains accurate logs and records as required.
  • Maintains consistent communication of project status with District Executive Team.
  • Maintain the integrity of Company proprietary information and protect Company assets.
  • Maintain the integrity of our guests’ privacy, including confidentiality of personal information as well as key control.
  • Supervises Grand Performers’ ability to execute department and hotel emergency procedures.
  • Maintains complete knowledge and ensures compliance of company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with subordinates to proactively identify and solve problems, respond to questions and create a positive and productive work environment.
  • Train, mentor and develop Grand Performers to the standards of a world class property and intuitive service experience.
  • Conduct Grand Performer coaching and counseling; Conduct interviews and select candidates who fit our “best of the best” model.
  • Provide ongoing recognition per the Company recognition program.
  • All other duties as assigned, planned or unplanned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory and leadership responsibilities include achieving results through providing direction and accountability of the following Grand Performers within the culture and policies established by the Kessler Collection.

  • Engineering Specialists
  • Engineer 1-3, during phases of Projects that require support from maintenance division.

KEY PARTNERSHIPS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, License, Certifications, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferred
  • Experience within luxury brand/markets – required
  • Construction/Trade Experience - required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title – preferred
  • Trade related certifications – preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience.

  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
  • Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to move 10lbs on a daily basis.
  • Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting and standing for long and short periods of time.
